January 9th was the first meeting of the year at Wheat Montana.  Nine members were in attendance.  We are happy to welcome two new members: Donna M. and Stephanie S. 

The board announced the purchase of a 14ft Bell trailer to be used as an office at the rides.  It will house the supplies we use at the rides as well as whatever ride forms needed.   

2010 ride season was discussed.  (See "Events of 2010" for upcoming rides.)  Note date change for the Spring Poker ride to May 22, 2010.

The AERC Endurance ride managers will need help setting the trails.  Please contact Penni C., Debbie S., or Coleen T. if you can help as soon as the weather and ground conditions allow.  This is planned for the Thompson River area and will be held July 17 & 18, 2010.  More specifics to follow.

The Year End Awards will be at the Elks Club in Kalispell at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 13, 2010.  It will be a potluck luncheon.  Bring a potluck dish to share and enjoy a special presentation on "What the veterinarians expect to see in an endurance horse" by Dr Denise Steele.  This will be great for beginners and the old pros too!

If any of you crafty folks out there are making horsy things (ex. potholders, hand towels, hooks, etc.) and would like to donate your items for award/prizes the club would be very happy to accept.
